For those of you just starting to play with your Tower System and want an alternative to the complimentary MQX real-time operating system include, check out the open-source FreeRTOS at www.freertos.org.
FreeRTOS V5.3.1 Now Available: - adds MCF51CN128 ColdFire V1 microcontrollers.
FreeRTOS plays well with the open-source, small footprint uIP ethernet stack and Tower System.
Stanley, today I found out that there is a nice Application note AN3906 on freescale.com explaining how to use freertos with MCF51CN128 device. The application example is a serial to ethernet bridge, but I am sure the basics can apply to your application. There is software associated with this application note.
How does the license for MQX work?
I have a open source GPL3 project, that runs on windows and linux. I want to port it to run on Kirin3 over MQX, but I am not sure how to "merge" the licenses.
Obviously I cannot include the MQX source in my GPL3 repository, but can I include a MQX library ( non source ) in my GPL3 repository?
How would I release my project on this board, can I include the MQX libraries in the zip file if I release the code on this board?

The tower system looks great. However, is there a single board that combines the controller and serial modules? Doesn't have to be the same controller. Thanks.
